A Blue Earth Area student could be charged for allegedly hitting a bus driver in the face.

According to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, school resource officer (SRO) Barry Meyers is investigating the incident.

Meyers has reportedly interviewed the bus driver and results of his investigation will be turned over to the County Attorney’s Office.

County authorities say the student who struck the bus driver is a 17-year-old boy.

During an afternoon route, the bus driver noticed that two boys appeared to be fighting in the rear of the bus as he was leaving the high school parking lot.

He decided to return back to the school and contacted school officials who were waiting outside the building.

The bus driver allegedly was struck in the face as the 17-year-old was being escorted off the bus.

Authorities say the other juvenile involved in the fight was an 11-year-old boy.
