ICE agents make arrest in Blue Earth

Local News

President Trump’s vow to deport illegal immigrants who have broken the law has led to an arrest locally.

Faribault County Sheriff Scott Adams and Blue Earth police chief Tom Fletcher say they were aware that officers of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were in Blue Earth earlier this week.

I saw them meeting in our parking lot,” says Adams. “I would assume that they did their briefing there.”

According to a news report, ICE agents apprehended a repeat sex offender Monday morning.

ICE officials reportedly took the person into custody at a residence on Galbraith Street without incident.

We were notified that they were working on picking someone up,” says Adams. “I do not have any other information or did we have any involvement.”

Fletcher says although his department received a heads up, “We were not part of that.”

The suspect allegedly has been deported two other times, according to authorities.

ICE officials were not available to comment on how they learned of the person’s whereabouts, where they are being held before being deported or to release their name.
