Authorities believe an “accidental shooting” resulted in two Blue Earth residents being treated for injuries Sunday night.
According to a press release, the Police Department received a call around 10:22 p.m. that a female and male with gunshot wounds were at the United Hospital District emergency room.
Authorities identify the woman as 20-year-old Alexia Andreoff and the man as 19-year-old Luis Hernandez.
Andreoff was treated and released from the hospital, according to authorities, but the condition of Hernandez was reported as unknown.
Police were able to locate and secure the vehicle they believe was involved in the incident, as well as the firearm that was used.
Authorities reportedly will be seeking charges for reckless discharge of a firearm.
Deputies of the Faribault Country Sheriff’s Department also assisted at the scene.
