Investigations of complaints continue

Investigations of complaints against three Faribault County officials are approaching their third month.

County Attorney Cameron Davis says commissioners gave him the go-ahead to hire Erin E. Benson of Ratwik, Roszak & Maloney, P.A. and Michelle Soldo of Soldo Consulting, P.C.

Because the complaints were referred out, I have no information as to when the investigations will conclude,” says Davis.

During a County Board meeting in April, Commissioner Tom Loveall informed the other four commissioners that a county employee had filed a complaint against him.

A month earlier, following a closed-session Davis reported that a county employee has made allegations in complaints against county coordinator Brian Hov and human resources director Amanda Shoff.

One complaint is an incident involving Hov and Shoff and the other complaint is only against Shoff.

Davis would not say how much the two investigators are being paid for their services.

According to a website, Benson is an attorney based in St. Paul who frequently serves as an investigator for school districts, municipalities and the State of Minnesota.

Soldo Consulting was formed 18 years ago and is located in Woodbury, according to a company website.

She is an attorney that has conducted more than 500 employment investigations of complaints that include allegations of employee misconduct and policy violations.
