County Board OKs more money for Abdo

Faribault County is supplementing a Mankato firm’s contract several thousands of dollars to provide services until a top-level employee is hired.

Commissioners have approved paying Abdo Solutions up to $9,000 while the search for a human resources manager continues.

Commissioner Bill Groskreutz says the deadline for applications has passed and interviews could begin this week.

β€œHopefully, we would have an individual in place in November,” he says. β€œThe additional amount of assistance is based on hours worked.”

Last August, commissioners agreed to pay Abdo a maximum amount of $175,000 for accounting services through the end of October or as much as $200,000 until an auditor/treasurer is hired.

Groskreutz says there are funds remaining from the original contract that will go toward paying Abdo.

Amy Sathoff has been hired as the county’s newly appointed auditor/treasurer and her first day on the job was Oct. 16.

Since 2011, Sathoff had worked in the Emmet County Auditor’s Office and took over as auditor in 2015.
