Authorities believe alcohol may have contributed to an accident that resulted in a Wells man being air-lifted to a Rochester hospital.
Around 3:06 a.m. Sunday, Faribault County authorities responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash near 3742 600th Avenue, about three miles west of Kiester.
When deputies arrived on the scene they found a 2019 Equinox in the west ditch on its roof.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Thomas Redig, was inside the vehicle and unresponsive.
According to authorities, Redig regained consciousness, was removed from the vehicle and given emergency care until the Mayo 3 helicopter arrived.
The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, authorities say, and entered the west ditch before hitting a field approach, rolling and coming to rest on its roof.
Redig did not sustained life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Also assisting at the scene were the Kiester Fire Department and ambulance. The accident remains under investigation.
