A Fairmont man set free after posting a $200,000 bond last week in Blue Earth County for allegedly assaulting a man, burglarizing a home and stealing a pickup has been arrested in Faribault County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Benjamin John Rosa was taken into custody early Monday morning for suspicion of DWI.
Around 5:45 a.m., county authorities received a report of a suspicious person at 31182 110th Street in rural Blue Earth, according to a news release.
Investigators say Rosa drove through a property on 105th Street and continued north through a cornfield.
Deputies arriving on the scene found a pickup truck hooked to a camper in the drainage ditch on the south side of the property.
With the assistance of other law officers, deputies conducted a search and found Rosa west of the property.
He sustained minor injuries from walking through the standing corn, according to authorities.
Rosa’s pickup was towed from the scene and sustained minor damage. The amount of damage to the crop was not known.
Assisting on the scene were the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Earth police and fire departments, Minnesota State Patrol and Blue Earth Ambulance.
