Commissioners still have staffing issues

It’s been less than a month and it appears Faribault County will be looking for another Human Resources (HR) director.

Tripleanews.com received a news tip that newly-hired Human Resources director Nathen Ericksen and two other employees have quit.

Commissioner Bill Groskreutz would not say whether Ericksen or the two employees are still employed with the county.

Official announcements regarding any personnel would be made at our meeting on Tuesday,” says Groskreutz.

When contacted by email to obtain Ericksen’s email address, County Coordinator Brian Hov says, “The position is currently vacant.”

Ericksen’s stint with the county was short, having been hired at the County Board’s Nov. 21, 2023, meeting and starting his duties on Dec. 4, according to a news report.

He replaced Pam Krill who resigned last September after being on the job for slightly more than a year. At the time, Krill cited “personal reasons” for leaving.

She has since been hired by CEDA to be the Community Workforce coordinator for Blue Earth Area, United South Central and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva school districts.

Also resigning this year were county auditor/treasurer/coordinator Darren Esser in May and auditor chief deputy accountant Jessica Blair in August after temporarily replacing Esser in June. These positions were filled in the past two months.

The commissioners’ next meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Dec. 19 with the Truth in Taxation meeting starting at 6 p.m.
